Pipe, Tape, and Glue

So today after dinner and a little bit of clothes shopping, we (my mother and I) went to Home Depot and bought a 10 foot long length of 1 1/2 inch PVC pipe. We also bought some PVC cement, and white duct tape. The goal here is to build some sort of contraption to hold my glass.

I have 58 different colors of glass; 25 transparent colors, 29 pastel colors, and 4 other. I am such a glass geek – I had a grand time taking all my colors out and separating them on the floor so I could count. I thought it was going to be a chore, but it was a lot of fun. While I was at it, I should have taken note of what colors I need more of. Oh well, I guess I’ll have to do it again. 🙂

I’m planning on putting in a glass order on Monday. I’m also going to order a couple of kiln couches, steel chopsticks, Pyrex punties and a rod nipper. I decided not to use a bolt because I thought something designed for the job would work better. The kiln couches have two levels so I should be able to get lots of beads in there at once without having to worry about them picking up texture from the kiln or sticking to each other.
